Last Sunday 01st May, Mellieha AC organised it’s Road Races in the scenic village of Mellieha.  The cool weather complemented the pleasant route which made it a good setting for the 236 participating runners, which also includes 38 children participating in the Kids’ Races.

The Road Races consisted of 10KM, 5KM, 2KM and 1KM (kids) distances.  The 10KM Male category was won by Mellieha’s Andrew Grech with a time of 32.52, whilst the 5KM Male Category was won by Mark Herrera of Pembroke Athleta with a time of 16.33. Keith Galea of Birkirkara St Joseph snatched 2nd place and Alan Camilleri (Mellieha AC) taking 3rd place in the same category.  10Km 2nd and 3rd place Male went to Jeffrey Zammit and Keith Xuereb (St Patrick AC) respectively.

This year’s edition proved to be another success, both in terms of participation and organisation.  But most of all, it gave the chance to many athletes to score Personal Bests.  Mellieha AC strives to improve every year in its organisation and athlete performance.  Thanks to all participants and organisers.
